มีประกาศรับสมัครงาน vmware consultant ลองดูว่าบริษัทต้องการความสามารถอะไรของที่เป็น virtual machine consultant มี 9 ข้อด้วยกัน
ผมขอแยกเป็นกลุ่มได้ 3 อันคือ
A. การจัดการ virtual machine และ template (นับเป็นเรื่องเดียวกัน) เช่น สร้าง, ลบ, update
B. IT service management เช่น การจัดการ incident และ problem
C. Operation ที่จะเป็น virtual หรือ physical ก็ต้องทำอยู่แล้ว เช่น backup/restore, performance monitoring, การใช้งานเครื่อง blade

- Creation, deletion and update of various templates required by the customer
- Creation, deletion and update of virtual machines
- Associate with xxx (it’s customer name) staff for planning and consult about VMware project
- Install and Configure ESX, Patching of ESX servers and VMware VC Server
- Incident Management and Problem Management of VMware related issues
- Configure backup and restore and troubleshoot problem for backup
- Perform Health Check of existing ESX servers
- Monthly report on task perform
- Run on IBM Blade Server HX5 / VSphere4.1 / EMC Storage CX3-80 & VTL/
Symantec Netbackup /Quantum Tape Library.
